Veterinarian
Dr. Shawn Haas
Dr. Haas completed his DVM degree in 1993 from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. He continued on at the College in a Herd Medicine and Reproduction residency which lead to a MSc. Degree in 1995. Dr. Haas joined the team at Lakeland Veterinary Services in May of 1995 and finished board certification in Veterinary Reproduction in 1996. Dr. Haas has been working in a full time position at Lakeland since 1995 and sees both general cases as well as referral cases in reproduction and surgery. Dr. Haas’s reproductive service includes breeding management, infertility workup, birthing management, semen evaluation, cooling, freezing, shipping and storage. Dr. Haas has developed a special interest in orthopedic disease, especially those of the stifle or knee. He has been performing TPLO surgeries since 2008 as well as extracapsular repairs for the treatment of cranial cruciate ligament rupture.

Dr. Haas has always been concerned with animal welfare and the pet overpopulation issue. He spent two terms on the SVMA Animal Welfare committee and is now the President of the Humane Society of the Battlefords. Dr. Haas and Lakeland Veterinary Services also work with a number of animal rescue groups in North West Saskatchewan to provide economical spay/neuter options for the animals being adopted out by these groups. When not busy at the office Dr. Haas may be found enjoying the great outdoors with his wife and two daughters, or attending dog shows where he shows the Newfoundland dogs he raises.

Dr. Sheri-lyn Berry
Dr. Sheri-lyn Berry is practicing in her thirteenth year of veterinary medicine, the last 10 here at Lakeland Veterinary Services.  Born and raised on a mixed farming operation here in the Battlefords, she left to gain work experience and degrees in English, Biology, Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Haas has always been concerned with animal welfare and the pet overpopulation issue. Married with two children, Sheri-lyn is happy to be back home in the Battlefords practicing both large and small animal health.

Calla graduated from SIAST Kelsey Campus as a veterinary technologist in 2005. She started working at Lakeland Veterinary Services in August of 2005. Calla grew up in central Saskatchewan on a mixed farm. She spends most of her free time at the farm and doing yard work.

Christina
Christina graduated from the veterinary technology program at SIAST Kelsy Campus. She started working full time at Lakeland Veterinary Services in January of 2009. Christina has a special interest in dog sledding and is trained in wildlife rehabilitation. She is married and expecting their first child this summer.

Helen
Helen graduated from the Kelsey Veterinary Technology program in 1985. After working briefly in Nipawin and Turtleford she settled in North Battleford with her husband. She has been working at Lakeland Veterinary Services since August of 1990. She has a daughter in her second year of university and a son in grade twelve. Their family is completed by their lovable dog Tuffy.

Kearstin graduated from Lakeland College in Vermillion AB in 2012. She started working full time at Lakeland Veterinary Services in May 2012. After a busy day at work Kearstin enjoys riding and training horses.

Susan
Susan graduated as a registered Veterinary Technologist in 1991 and started working in a small animal practice in Saskatoon. In 1997 she moved to the farm in Meota and continued her career at Lakeland Veterinary Services. Within this time she has had two children, six cats and two dogs. She continues to work on a seasonal part time basis, taking time off work to help her husband on the family farm from May until November.
